The working process

Calculate the real pixel target
Start from the final display or print dimensions. Do not confuse DPI metadata with actual image detail; determine how many pixels the intended use requires.

Remove poor candidates first
Reject duplicates, severe compression, malformed details, missed focus, and images that are simply wrong. Enlargement makes some defects easier to see rather than fixing them.

Choose the smallest sufficient scale
In Batch Enhance Image, select the lowest enlargement that reaches the target. A larger number is not automatically a better result.

Test sharpening on difficult details
Preview faces, lettering, fine edges, gradients, and textured areas. Compare sharpening choices at full resolution and avoid halos or brittle edges.

Run the selected folder locally
Write enhanced files to a new destination while retaining the sources. Keep the folder name or notes clear about the scale and settings used.

Inspect outputs at actual size
Compare representative originals and outputs at 100% and at the final viewing size. Reject files where enlargement exaggerates artifacts or creates an artificial surface.

Practical limitation
Upscaling can enlarge and improve presentation, but it cannot recover detail that was never present or repair bad anatomy, composition, focus, or severe compression.

Questions worth answering
Does changing DPI create more image detail?
No. Real detail depends on pixel dimensions and source quality. DPI metadata describes intended physical density; it does not invent pixels.
Should I upscale every image I generated?
No. Select the strongest candidates first so time and storage are not spent enlarging weak or defective files.
